Curious about the history of your home or neighborhood? The Edina Historical Society (EHS) offers a Residential Research Service to help residents discover the stories connected to their property—while supporting the preservation of local history.
This service is ideal for homeowners, renters, students, and anyone beginning a property history project.
Submit a Research Request Form with your address, approximate construction date (if known), and any specific questions or topics you’re curious about.
EHS staff will confirm receipt and review what materials may be available.
Research begins once the scope is confirmed. Research time is billed by the hour whether or not relevant materials are located.
Projects are billed in one-hour increments and are typically completed within 3–4 weeks.
Upon completion, you will receive:
A brief PDF summary report of findings
Scanned materials or images from the archives (when available)
Citations for all sources consulted
$30/hour for EHS members
$35/hour for non-members
Research results depend on available documentation. EHS cannot guarantee that specific findings, photographs, or records will be located. All research is conducted using EHS archives and relevant public records.
