Step aboard for an evening of luminous songwriting, rich harmonies, and heartfelt storytelling as Nikki Lemire & The Friend Ship bring their distinctive blend of folk, Americana, and modern sonic textures to the Grange.
At the helm is Nikki Lemire, an award-winning harpist and songwriter whose music feels both timeless and strikingly new. With expressive vocals layered over hypnotic harp, loop, and electric effects, her sound drifts somewhere between the folk roots of Joni Mitchell, the innovation of contemporary indie, and the emotional immediacy of modern pop. Her work—praised by The Current as “dreamy, simple, and beautiful”—explores themes of motherhood, love, loss, and connection with a rare depth and intimacy.
Joining her is The Friend Ship, a collective of acclaimed Twin Cities singer-songwriters:
-
Matthew French, an award-nominated Americana artist known for vulnerable, big-hearted songwriting
-
Joel Sax, whose long-awaited debut captures a lifetime of love, regret, and hope
-
Marc Severin, a beloved voice in the Minnesota music scene blending environmental spirit with Midwestern country storytelling
-
Dave Mehling, a dynamic and deeply expressive performer whose work spans indie rock, folk, and the avant-garde
Together, they create an evening that is as much about connection as it is about music—sharing songs, stories, and the kind of moments that linger long after the last note fades.
Whether you come for the artistry, the atmosphere, or the sense of community, this is a night to settle in, listen deeply, and be carried somewhere beautiful.
All aboard.
