Dan Israel is a longtime fixture of the Minneapolis music scene, known for his melodic blend of roots rock, power pop, and Americana. The first-ever guest on 89.3 The Current’s Local Show, Israel has been called “the hardest working singer-songwriter in Minnesota.” He won Song of the Year for “Come to Me” at the 2005 Minnesota Music Awards and was named Songwriter of the Year in 2006.

Over a career spanning decades, Israel has built a reputation for catchy melodies, plainspoken vocals, and deeply personal songwriting. His latest album, Seriously, is his 17th studio album and continues the heartland rock sound that has earned him critical praise both at home and abroad. Americana UK described the record as “music from the heart, and the heartland,” highlighting songs that move between love, loss, work, resilience, and the experiences of ordinary life.

Joining Israel is veteran Twin Cities guitarist and vocalist Steve Brantseg, an accomplished musician who has been active in the Minneapolis music scene since the early 1980s. Brantseg has performed with The Phones and Tommy Stinson’s Bash & Pop and is a longtime collaborator with The Suburbs as well as Dan Israel. A familiar presence alongside many notable local performers, Brantseg brings decades of experience and versatile guitar work to the stage.
