"My favorite part was everything. My least favorite part was leaving." ~ Student visiting Cahill School program.

Stacks of letters come every week to the Cahill Schoolmarms to thank them for the field trip experience. Students tell us how much fun they had; their teachers comment on how much their students learned about the pioneer period in American history.

                                        Some actual thank you letters:
"Thank you for a great field trip. I liked the part when we went to school in 1900. I never thought school would be that different. I thought it was weird that kids were 3 and 21 (years old) in the same class. My favorite part was when we played 4 corners. Thanks for having us. It was a BLAST!"

"My favorite part was when we wrote on the slate. Can we come again tomorrow? I liked it so much I wish I really went to school there every day! I think I will go there again. That was really like traveling back in time. I think I learned a lot about school in the 1800's."

"Thank you for making our visit to Old Cahill a fun learning experience. My class is still talking about the new things they learned and the fun games they played! We now play "hide the thimble" in our class, except we use an eraser. You are a wonderful teacher." ~ classroom teacher

"Thank you for...teaching me about the 1800's and 1900's. I really enjoyed learning about the U.S. flag. I also liked the story and the important words like... honest, kind, prompt and earnest. I also liked the games we played after. And I really liked using the slates. I had a REALLY fun time. You might see me again. I really liked old Cahill and thank you for teaching me about it."

"For me this was the best field trip in 3rd grade."
